GROUP IS AWARDED CONSTRUCTION OF
CHAPIN MEDICAL BUILDING
Construction to start on a $3-million
medical building in Corona
IRVINE, CA—(April 4, 2002). Wentz Group, a leading
California-based general contractor for 28 years, has been awarded a $3-million contract
by Mark C. Johnson Trust to construct the new Chapin Medical Building in Corona.
Construction of the new corporate headquarters, located at 419 Jenks Circle, will begin in
April 2002 and completion is slated for January 2003.
Designed by Watkins / Baile & Associates of Newport Beach, CA, the distinctive
diamond shaped Chapin Medical Building was designed to complement the existing building.
The new 2-story, 19,152 square foot medical building will be constructed of steel, wood,
cast-in-place concrete, masonry, veneer and stucco. A 70-foot pedestrian bridge adorned
with brass and structural glass will join the two buildings. In addition to office space,
other interior amenities include, a theater with amphitheater style seating to accommodate
60 people, an IT lab, a communications equipment room, a warehouse and a kitchen. In
addition, the building will have a specialized FM 200 fire protection system and future
emergency power generation. Inside, the walls will be covered in high-end wall coverings
and tile with marble floors and wood cabinetry throughout. The exterior will feature
decorative granite pavers and a water feature.
