WENTZ GROUP COMPLETES CONSTRUCTION
OF
SERENA SOFTWARE’S NEW CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
Facility features 30,000 square feet of refined interiors
SAN CARLOS, CA -- (April 22, 2002). Wentz Group, a leading
California-based general contractor for 28 years, recently completed a $500,000 contract
for Serena Software, Inc. for the construction of their new corporate headquarters.
Located in San Mateo at 2755 Campus Drive, construction began in February 2002 and was
completed this month.
"We selected Wentz Group because they were highly
recommended by our architect, Ware Malcomb," said Anne Yardley, office manager for
Serena Software, Inc. "They were able to design a flexible schedule and work
out-of-sequence to adapt to unexpected schedule challenges. We were happy to occupy the
space on-time and overall, we’re very satisfied with the project."
Designed by Ware Malcomb Architects, Inc., Serena Software
occupies the entire 3rd floor, which encompasses stellar views of the bay and
San Francisco. The 30,000-square-foot corporate office building is well articulated with
contemporary, brightly colored design principles taken from the Serena Software’s
existing corporate identity. The interior boasts office space for 140 employees including
over 100-work stations, 11-private executive offices, nine-conference rooms, a technology
room, two-breakrooms with kitchens and a training/education center. The lobby is
embellished with slate tile floors, high-end wall coverings and quartered fiddle-back
anigre hardwood reception desk and wall panels.
"In general, we need to work quickly on any interior
improvement project to meet schedule and occupancy goals. This particular project
possessed some unique permitting challenges," said Chris Thompson, project manager
for Wentz Group. "Eric Barger, the project superintendent, was able to reschedule out
of sequence work in order to complete the project on-time."
