GROUP IS AWARDED CONSTRUCTION OF
BRIDGEVIEW ACADEMY
Preconstruction plans for the temporary campus are underway
SAN CARLOS, CA—(June 19, 2002). Wentz Group, a leading
California-based general contractor for 28 years, has been awarded a $2-million contract
by BridgeView Academy to construct the temporary campus for the new BridgeView Academy
school in Foster City. Pre-construction plans for the school, located opposite the Foster
City Community Center on Shell Boulevard, have begun. Construction will begin in September
and completion is slated for January 2003 at which time recruitment of students and
faculty will commence. The temporary campus is designed to launch Grades 6 and 9
accommodating 160 students in Fall 2003. In Fall 2004, the campus will expand to include
Grades 7 and 10, accommodating 320 students. Construction of the BridgeView Academy
permanent facility is scheduled to commence in 2003 and will include several phases of
construction.
Designed by Kwan Henmi of San Francisco, CA, the BridgeView Academy
temporary campus will be constructed on a 15 acre parcel and will include a total of 14,
24 x 40 foot module buildings in 2003 and grow to 25 module buildings in 2004. The campus
will include classrooms, science labs, art studios, technology labs and administration
buildings. As the general contractor, Wentz Group will manage the project and installation
of the modular facilities including the foundation, utilities, telecommunications system
and civil work. In addition, the campus will have permanent and temporary landscaping with
a variety of trees and a turf play field.
